Configure notification tones for status alerts in your Site24x7 iOS or Android app

Hi there,

Receiving an alert in the middle of something important, like while handling a critical IT task, can hamper your concentration and compel you to check the notification. Each time you get a notification related to a monitor’s status, you'll have to check the alert to understand the status change, whether the monitor is back in Up status or has gone to Down or Trouble. What if you could decipher the status change by setting specific notification tones for each status?


We're happy to inform you that now you can set different alert tones based on the status notification in your mobile apps, for both iOS and Android. This can help you identify the status of your monitors without checking the entire notification. You can also mute alerts.

How to configure the notification tone settings in the Site24x7 iOS app

  1. Log in to the Site24x7 mobile app.

  2. Tap the vertical ellipsis icon next to the monitor of your preference.

  3. Navigate to Custom > Touch.

  4. Tap the hamburger icon in the top-left corner of the page. Choose Settings > Notification Settings.

Select the status of your preference and choose a notification tone, then tap Save.
For instance, if you wish to set a notification tone for Trouble: tap Trouble, choose the ringtone, and tap Save.

By setting different tones, you can differentiate between Down, Trouble, Critical, or Up status notifications. To mute notifications, choose Mute instead of the tone and tap Save.

How to configure the notification tone settings in the Site24x7 Android app

  1. Log in to the Site24x7 mobile app.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Manage Notifications.

  3. Tap any status under the Monitor Status section.

  4. In the new page that opens, tap Advanced > Sound. Choose a tone of your preference.

To mute notifications, choose None instead of selecting a notification tone.

  1. You can also set the notification tones by tapping App info for the Site24x7 mobile app.

  2. On the App info page that opens, tap Notifications.

  3. On the new page that opens, tap the status of your preference. For instance, if you wish to set the notification tone for Critical status, tap Critical > Advanced > Sound. On the new page that opens, choose the ringtone of your choice. If you wish to mute notifications, choose None.

    You can follow the same process to set notification tones for Up, Down, or Trouble status changes.
