The .parent() method selects the direct parent of the selected element. It doesn’t go further up the DOM tree, only the immediate parent.

The .siblings() method selects all sibling elements of the selected element, excluding the element itself.

The .closest() method looks up the DOM tree to find the nearest ancestor that matches the selector.
