We are thrilled to announce the launch of On-Premise Poller Group, a new feature designed for high availability and user-friendliness.
The On-Premise Poller Group is a collection of On-Premise Pollers crafted to efficiently distribute monitoring workloads, ensuring a high availability of resources at all times. It simplifies the allocation of monitors across selected On-Premise Pollers, allowing both primary and standby On-Premise Pollers to operate seamlessly across monitors. This approach contrasts with traditional one-to-one High Availability configurations, enhancing overall service reliability and adaptability.
Key benefits
- Seamless transitions: In the event of redistribution, if a primary On-Premise Poller from the On-Premise Poller Group goes down, a standby On-Premise Poller from the configured pool of On-Premise Pollers will take over its monitoring activities and continue to function as the primary On-Premise Poller.
- Resource optimization: The On-Premise Poller Group efficiently manages CPU and system memory usage, balancing the load across multiple On-Premise Pollers to ensure optimal performance. As it distributes the workloads, you can continue adding an unlimited number of monitors without overburdening system resources, ensuring high performance and reliability.
How does it work?
Adding an On-Premise Poller Group is effortless. Once you have added an On-Premise Poller, navigate to Admin > On-Premise Poller > On-Premise Poller Group.
The On-Premise Poller Group:
- Streamlines the allocation of monitoring tasks by evenly distributing them across all available On-Premise Pollers.
- Monitors the CPU and memory usage of each On-Premise Poller to prevent any from being overwhelmed and automatically promotes a standby poller to primary poller should the need arise.
- Ensures proactive management of On-Premise Pollers through a high level of service continuity and reliability.
The On-Premise Poller Group for MSP is currently available in a beta version.
