Updated : What Third Party Integrations do you like to see in Site24x7?

In recent times we did get a few integration requests for Alarm Management. One of the requests was integration with BigPanda. This request was more from managing Alarms from Site24x7.

We would like to hear other possible categories of integration that you would like to see. In the traditional IT Monitoring space, you would probably ask integrations with a CMDB or a Help Desk. We are curious to know if there are such and other integration requests that would help improve the productivity of your team.

Please post your suggestions and add as much detailed as possible so that we understand the context of the integration.

Thanks
Gibu

Would be nice to be able to connect to JIRA via the internal poller or an internal system to create tickets if there are incidents.

Yes, the OnPremise Poller will be used for Jira integration. We intend to also do SNMP integration (SNMP Traps) in to legacy systems via the same route.

Any updates on this feature? Is this still even a thing that is being considered?

HipChat and Slack would be two other useful integration.. This way customers that use either can create notification rooms and have alerts sent to them.

I understand there is already the Zapier connector, but a customer should not have to pay a 3rd party to handle alerts from Site24x7.

Any update regarding the Slack integration?
We as well would very much like to see the ability to integrate our monitor alerts directly to slack without requiring a 3rd party account.
Thanks in advance!

Hi There,

Good to see a handful integration requests coming in.

For Slack, we would suggest you to try the ManageEngineAlarmsOne Integration to receive messages as of now. We do have Slack integration in our roadmap. We shall keep you posted once done.

And regarding the Zendesk and Freshdesk integrations, you can try using our invoke URL action and let us know if this helps.

Regards,
Sushma.

+1 on Kelly's suggestion of Zendesk!!! would be great.  Though in theory, we could configure the alert email to go to zendesk which in turn would create a ticket but would be great if you could make the integration a seamless one!

Oh and Slack as well!!!

Any word on more 3rd party integration?

Seems like BigPanda has created an integration for Site24x7 using their API and the Actions feature in Site24x7.

If anyone is looking for an alert correlation tool, BigPanda (https://bigpanda.io/integrations/) is what we use and they integrate with all our tools...

Hi Framirez,

We are currently working on Slack & Hip Chat integration. We will have this released in 2-3 weeks time.

I will update the post once it is released.

Hi All,

Site24x7 integration with Slack and HipChat is live. Please go ahead and create Slack and HipChat webhook URLs and use the same to integrate with Site24x7 (Admin > Thirdparty integrations).

Track the Up/Down/Trouble alerts and Root cause analysis report links in the Slack channel or via HipChat rooms.

Here are the help links and videos to get you started.

First off.. HUGE thanks for getting more 3rd party integration in the tool.

There is a HUGE delay between when an incident happens in Site24x7 and when the DOWN alert shows up in HipChat...

Site24x7 shows 12:38:47 PM
HipChat the alert showed up at 12:44 PM
The RCA note did not show up in HipChat until 12:47 PM

However...
The UP alert shows up quickly.

Hi,

We request you to send your account's login email and the monitor name to support@site24x7.com . It will be helpful for us to analyze the root cause and will get back to you with an update.

Guest,

Any word on SNMP Trap monitoring?

There seems to be a way to do it already:

https://www.site24x7.com/network-monitoring.html

Deep insights using SNMP performance counters.

Monitor individual SNMP performance counters of network devices. Add new performance counters and set threshold values and get notified instantly when a particular performance counter exceeds the set value. Monitor you network's routing and switching with deep insights on the critical performance counters.

The performance counters that you can track are:

  • Memory utilization
  • Undersize packets
  • Oversize packets
  • Interface in giants
  • Drop events statistics
  • Jabber packets
  • Backplane utilization
  • Active session count
  • Buffer failures
  • Interface collisions
  • Disk utilization
  • Input packet drops
  • Output packet drops
  • CPU usage and more

A DataDog integration would be great.  Trouble, down, and up events in datadog would be a huge help to my team.  Also being able to show the availability percentage by monitor group in a datadog dashboard would be huge.

Hi,

I am wondering about your question about a datadog integration ....

Why do you use datadog and why do you use site24x7?

I guess 95% of datadog related stuff you can do within site24x7 for a much better price ... so from my perspective why do you still use datadog and do not completly switch to site24x7?

Based on what I have seen Site24x7 is not a competitor to DataDog.  If they are trying to be they have a long way to go.  For example... DataDogs dash-boarding capabilities are far beyond what Site24x7 offers today.  I can also just throw data at DataDog and chart/monitor it.  I have seen no easy way to just send a metric to Site24x7.

But to answer the direct question.  We do a lot of application monitoring with StatsD can Site24x7 monitor and display StatsD metrics?

Hi,

We would like to inform you that the feature to Monitor any End Point's Custom Metric is already in-progress. We are at the final stage of releasing it.

This feature facilitates the user to send any End Point's Custom Metric data, which will be persisted, allowing user to see reports and be alerted if any configured Custom Metric is violated.

Please check the Screenshots given below.

If you have any feedback, please post your comments.

We are also in-progress of integrating StatsD with Site24x7's Custom Metric which would automatically push the application metrics from StatsD to Site24x7.

Thanks,

Muralikrishnan

Looks like we will just use DataDog for our needs.  Since you eluded to Site24x7 being a competitor I reached out to DataDog and found they will meet our needs, well enough, in the 1 area we were willing pay Site24x7 for.

Now my 2018 budget has 2k extra.  Thanks!

un1510845378879r85id,
I would like to bring in some clarity.

>> For example... DataDogs dash-boarding capabilities are far beyond what Site24x7 offers today. I can also just throw data at DataDog and chart/monitor it. I have seen no easy way to just send a metric to Site24x7.

The answer to this is yes. This capability is in the works as Muralikrishnan put it. It would be called "Custom Metrics Monitor". You can push any data via a REST API in to our system and graph with the any of our other out of the box monitoring.

The screenshots are of something that is still not released.

>> But to answer the direct question. We do a lot of application monitoring with StatsD can Site24x7 monitor and display StatsD metrics?

We do not have any out-of-the-box integration with StatsD yet. However that will be one of the first things that our "Custom Metrics Monitor" team would work once they release the "Custom Metrics Monitor".

>>Now my 2018 budget has 2k extra. Thanks!

If you elaborate what you are spending for, in a new post, I believe we can help save that :-)

For others in the community. This new monitor is in addition to what we already have and what is called the "Site24x7 Plugins". As you know, "Site24x7 Plugin" uses the Site24x7 Server Agents for pushing data while the new one does not need any software installation.

Gibu, two questions...

  1. Any word on the JIRA integration part brought up earlier in the conversation?
  2. Will these Custom Metrics Monitors be considered basic or advanced?

This will be a basic monitor.

Sorry the Jira integration is still not in the works. Will get back when we start. This is important, just slipped.

Hi,

I've wrote a python script to pipe 24x7 metrics to datadog. It's fairly simple for now, but works for my use case. Feel free to contribute!

I saw that but that was for cloud only, what about server? Or did I miss that too?

We're glad to announce the launch of Site24x7's integration with Atlassian Jira Cloud platform.

Integration with Jira Server (On-Premise version) is in the pipeline.

Like (0) Reply

No, We did not do Jira on-prem, Framirez. I understand that its been long. Which version is the most commonly used? I see from their page that 8.8.0 is the latest

I would like to leave this as a poll comment for our community members to respond. Please upvote by commenting the need for Jira server integration.

Hi @Gibu,

Would love to be able to gather 24x7 data in datadog to be able to plug them in all my Datadog dashboards, and being able to correlate with my current metrics.

We use Datadog to grab data from all the services we use (NR, APIs, AWS, jenkins etc...). Having 24x7 seamless integration would be a huge help . NewRelic Synthehic already provide this Datadog integration already, but the data is not as good as 24x7.

Is it something you'd consider in a near future?

Thanks :)

Hello,

what about SAP System integrations, we have more than 300 servers with different SAP products that we can only monitor from infraestructure side. For example manage engine have SAP monitors, can you please give us a chance to consider a monitor for SAP Systems?

Dear Michael,

My apologies for missing out on your earlier comment. SAP Monitoring is what you are asking I believe. We have haven't started any work on this yet. However, could you list here what you want to monitor and attributes you would like to see the most?

Thank you Jasper for the contact.

Exactly SAP monitoring, for example ABAP systems, Java Systems, HANA DB systems, Sybase DB, SAP Cloud Platform PaaS. For example ManageEngine which is part of the Zoho group has this monitors but the UI is old, you are doing a excellent job in the UI and also the notifications.

Any option you can consider this? SAP installations are global and very popular, this integration will allow us do a better value job with our customers.

Best regards

Michael

Hello Guys,

Any information about SAP integration? Are you considering it?

We are yet to take this up Michael. However, using the custom plugin framework you can write your own plugins to monitor SAP products. Native support for SAP monitoring is still in our backlog though.

Hello Zoho team,

Any news with SAP integration? can you consider for 2021 at least a basic monitor of SAP KPI metrics?

I agree with Michael. SAP cant be kept out of the monitoring purview any longer. No use only being able to monitor infrastructure but not the SAP/HANA internals. Need it quite urgently, I must say.

ServiceNow would be a great addition. We use both JIRA Server (onPrem) and ServiceNow for ticketing and it would be great to be able to connect to them both to send Site24x7 Alerts to.

Dear Framirez,

I am assuming that ServiceNow on-prem is what you are asking for which we don't have yet. I'll add that in our backlog. We have ServiceNow integration already available with us just in case you are referring to the cloud version.
