On-Premise Poller
On-Premise Poller helps monitor your internal network/resources behind the firewall. Being a light weight agent, it monitors data center components, intranet applications like blogs, payroll applications, ERP systems, ping network devices, database servers etc. This agent can be installed in various branch offices within a distributed organization and can be used to monitor user experience from these branch office locations.
On-Premise Poller Architecture
For example, to monitor payroll applications, install the On-Premise Poller software in the same network, which will collect the data according to the set poll interval and sends it to Site24x7 Data Collector. Users can extract this data in the form of reports. Apart from data collection, On-Premise also notifies downtime within one minute whenever an website/application within that network goes down.
It supports
- Website
- Web application
- DNS Monitor
- POP Service Monitor
- Ping Monitor
- FTP RTT Monitor
- FTP Service Monitor
- Port Monitor
- SMTP Service Monitor
- VMware VM
- VMware ESX/ESXi Server
- vCenter
- Network Devices
Additionally, the On-Premise Poller can act as a custom monitoring location where users can install and use the poller as a geographical location that is not supported by Site24x7.
On-Premise Poller can be installed on Windows and Linux machines(both 32-bit annd 64-bit versions) as well as on virtual machines. The Poller supports only 64-bit version for Network Devices.

Virtualization Monitoring
Since vCenter resides behind your firewall, one would require On-Premise Poller to be installed in that intranet network. Moreover, this acts as a location from where the vCenter server will be monitored. Once the vCenter monitor is added, it auto-discovers the entire VMware infrastructure and segments them into individual components such as Data Centers, Clusters, Resource Pools, ESX/ESXi, VMs etc and sends the data collected every 5 minutes to Site24x7 data collectors.
Virtualization Monitoring Architecture
Users can asses the capacity of the entire infrastructure, isolate unhealthy ESX/ESXi servers, take corrective action, allocate resources to each VM based on availability using the generated data.
